Founding and Early Years

1848: Louis Brandt founded a small watchmaking workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. He assembled key-wound pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen.

1879: After Louis Brandt’s death, his sons Louis-Paul and César Brandt took over and moved operations to Bienne (Biel) in 1880 to access better infrastructure and labor.
